The beginnings of the Coffeyville Area Chamber of Commerce date back to 1901 when the Citizens Commercial Club was organized by ten men known as the "Ten Men of Iron Nerve." These men risked their own fortunes but saw great industrial growth in Coffeyville. In 1907 the Chamber of Commerce was officially chartered, the same year the first passenger cars operated on the interurban and the Brown Mansion was completed. For 100 years, the Chamber in Coffeyville has been committed to conducting activities which have a positive impact on the economic, educational, civic and social welfare of Coffeyville and the area. The Coffeyville Area Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit, member driven organization working to promote business and community growth and development. Members are the lifeblood of the organization and are active through committees established in five divisions - Business, Community, Governmental, Tourism and Special Events and Organization. Policies and the general direction of the Chamber are set by the Board of Directors and carried out by the Chamber staff. The Board also adopts the annual Program of Work for the Chamber. The Chamber Ambassadors are an active arm of the Chamber responsible for conducting ribbon cuttings, hosting Business After Five events and assisting with numerous Chamber functions. The Chamber can assist your business, organization or camper group with setting up meetings, conventions, tours or other activities in Coffeyville. Phone 620-251-2550 or 1-800-626-3357 for more information. Located in the Perkins Building, the site of the Dalton Raid in 1892, the Coffeyville Area Chamber of Commerce is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Whether it is community demographics, available commercial or rental properties, maps, tourist information or general community information you're seeking, the Chamber is eager to serve you.
