Trisha Purdon Named Executive Director for Montgomery County Action Council

Sam Blackard, president of the Montgomery County Action Coucil (MCAC) Board of Directors, has announced Trisha Purdon will assume the role of MCAC executive director, beginning May 2.

Purdon has been employed with the City of Coffeyville since 2014, currently in the capcity of assistant city manager for economic development, and previously served as MCAC’s assistant director for two years.

“Trisha stood out among a field of several qualified candidates thanks to her extensive economic development background, her familiarity with our county and, of course, her intimate knowledge of the workings of our organization,” Blackard said. “We have confidence she will be able to hit the ground running and capitalize on promising opportunities for business development in our area.”

In her roles with the City of Coffeyville and MCAC, Purdon racked up significant experience in business recruitment and expansion; budget and finance management; project management; and strategic planning. She previously was employed as a senior grant specialist at the University of Kansas, where she prepared various funding proposals submitted to multiple entities, including the U.S. Departments of Defense, Transportation and Commerce.
