On October 5, 1892, five
members of the Dalton Gang rode into Coffeyville with plans to
rob the Condon and First National Banks. |
| Following a 12-minute
gun battle, eight people lay dead in the streets of Coffeyville -
four citizens (Charles Brown, Lucius Baldwin, George Cubine and
Charles Connelly) and four members of the Dalton Gang (Bob and
Grat Dalton, Bill Powers and Dick Broadwell). |
