COPS 

The Coffeyville Police Department is dedicated to the Community Policing philosophy and better serving the citizens of Coffeyville. We have built and continue to build a solid and vital relationship with the community by personalizing the services we provide. Officers and the community identify concerns and/or problems and work together to develop strategies to alleviate these concerns and/or problems.

We have taken a proactive approach to educating and protecting our youth. We have a full-time DARE officer as well as an additional full-time School Resource Officer (SRO) who are assigned to the school system to build and maintain the same relationship with our youth as with the community at large. This has allowed the Department, with the cooperation of the School District, to identify potential problems and areas that nee attention, formulate mutually beneficial solutions and effectively address these areas in their infancy, before they escalate. One example is our new Mentoring/Tutoring Program, in which officers volunteer to pair with at-risk youths to assist them with the learning process and to provide a positive role model.
