The Investigations division utilizes three Investigators who are on call 24 hours a day/7 days a week to respond to major crimes and/or serious felonies. Two of the Investigators are primarily tasked with investigation Person/Property crimes, while the third Investigator is responsible for Narcotic Investigations. The Investigations division handles all evidence generated by the Department and insures it is forwarded to the proper facilities for testing and evaluation, if needed. Person/Property Investigators, one Sergeant and one patrol Officer, rotate through Investigations from Patrol.

All of the Sergeants have investigative experience and act as a training officer for the patrol Officers who have not been through Investigations before. This allows our Patrol Officers to draw on experienced Investigators for suggestions, ideas and methods. It also allows our Patrol Officers to gain valuable investigative experience during their rotation. Patrol Officers who have rotated through Investigations are able to m ore effectively investigate their own cases once back on the street and builds a Department of Investigators that allows the Department to utilize a "team concept" to investigate Major Crimes as opposed to one or two investigators bearing a majority of the work.|
