What do I do if I am handicapped and unable to get a polycart to the curb?
You may request pick-up service at your house if you are handicapped and physically unable to get the polycart to the curb. For more details, please contact customer service at 620-252-6124.

What happens if I have extra trash?
The occasional extra bag will be picked up. If there is always extra trash next to the polycart, you will need to contact 620-252-6124 to order an additional polycart.

Who is responsible for the polycart?
The polycarts are the property of Waste Connections and will be maintained and replaced at no cost to the resident, except for damage due to negligence or abuse. Residents are required to pay for replacement of any cart if the damage is due to negligence or abuse.

What do I do with the polycart if I move?
The polycart stays with the house; do not take it with you when you move.

I haul my own trash off. Will I still be required to have trash service?
Yes, every dwelling receiving city water, sewer or electric service will receive a polycart and will be billed for the service.

I own a house that is currently vacant but the utilities are on. Will I be billed for the service?
Yes, every residential dwelling in the city limits receiving city water, sewer or electric service will receive a polycart and be billed for the service. An affidavit to exempt vacant or unoccupied dwellings that still have utilities from the trash service can be provided to the Customer Service Office at City Hall.

What happens if the trucks cannot run due to bad weather?
In the event of snowfall or ice that prevents the trucks from running in a safe and reasonable manner, the pick up will be moved to the next day using Saturday to get back on schedule.

What day will my trash be picked up?
Your trash will be picked up as designated on the
trash pick up map.

When will my trash get picked up after a holiday?
Reesidential trash service will not run on Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years Day. Trash service those weeks will run one day late using Saturday as a catch-up day. Trash will be picked up as scheduled on Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day.
11.
Do seniors get a special rate for trash service?
Yes, if the head of household is 62 or older and the dwelling is not occupied by anyone other than a spouse or temporary guests, you will qualify for the senior trash rate of $12.
