Historic Downtown Relocation Incentive Program

Coffeyville’s Historic Downtown flows with rich heritage of economic opportunities for entrepreneurs.  The Historic Downtown Relocation Grant Program gives $5,000.00 to an individual business to aid in its relocation into Coffeyville’s Historic Downtown. The Historic Downtown Relocation Incentive is one of the ways the City of Coffeyville can partner with an individual business to increase the value of locating the individual business in Coffeyville’s Historic Downtown.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be a newly formed business or existing business relocating into Coffeyville’s Historic Downtown area.  
  • Applicants must be the Chief Executive Officer of the business. 
  • Applicants must be free from any judgement liens and tax obligations must be current.
  • Applicants must be a new retail or commercial business within Coffeyville’s Historic Downtown area.
  • If the Applicant does not own the property in Coffeyville’s Historic Downtown area, but will be a new tenant of the property, the Applicant must have a copy of the lease from the property owner. 
  • The Applicant must provide a copy of the business insurance.

Historic Downtown Relocation Grant Program Application Process

  1. Meet with the Director of Engineering, or such other person as the City Manager may designate, to determine whether the Historic Downtown Relocation Incentive is applicable to the business.
  2. Turn in the completed Historic Downtown Relocation Incentive Program application with all required attachments to the Director of Engineering, or such other person as the City Manager may designate.  
  3. Allow 21 business days from the submission of all required information for review of the Historic Downtown Relocation Incentive Program application to determine eligibility.    The Director of Engineering or designee may request additional information if he/she considers the information supplied by the applicant to be insufficient.  
  4. Within 30 days after proof of relocation and occupancy certificate has been issued, the City shall issue a check for reimbursement of the relocation. 
  5. The City Commission will review the status of the Historic Downtown Relocation Incentive Program once a year to determine if any changes in the guidelines are necessary.

Note: Funding is limited.   Submission of an application does not guarantee funding.  The determination of eligibility and priority for assistance is at the discretion of the City’s Director of Engineering.
