Available Programs
Kansas Housing Assistance Fund
The Kansas Homeowner Assistance Fund (KHAF) is a program developed by Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC), using HAF funding. It is designed to help Kansas homeowners who may be struggling with mortgage payments, property taxes, homeowner association (HOA) dues, utility bills, and certain other costs associated with homeownership because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Kansas Weatherization Assistance Program
Weatherization improves energy efficiency and lowers utility bills by ensuring your home holds in heat and air conditioning while keeping hot and cold air out. Eligible households receive a comprehensive home energy audit to identify inefficiencies and health and safety concerns. Based on a home’s audit results, improvements may include:
- Sealing of drafts and air leaks, caulking doors and windows, weatherstripping
- Testing, cleaning and repairs of heating and cooling systems and water heaters
- Adding insulation to ceilings, walls, floors, and foundations
- Lighting, refrigerator, and fan upgrades

Moderate Income Housing Grant
The Moderate Income Housing (MIH) program serves the needs of moderate-income households that typically don’t qualify for federal housing assistance. MIH grants and/or loans are awarded to cities and counties with populations fewer than 60,000 to develop single or multi-family properties for homeownership or rentals. Projects can be for new construction, rehabilitation, or conversion from another use.

Rural Housing Incentive District
RHID is designed to aid cities, counties and developers in building housing within rural communities by assisting in the financing of eligible improvements.
