A building permit is required if the shelter is 120 square feet or more in size. Otherwise, a permit is not required. Before installation, call 1-800-DIGSAFE to arrange for locates. Also, once the installation is complete, it is recommended you register the shelter with the City of Coffeyville. Register your storm shelter.

2. Is a building permit required to put a roof on a house?

Yes, a building permit is required if you are doing a complete tear-off of the existing roof or an overlay on the existing roof - no more than two layers are allowed.
