What is the hiring process?: A number of positions with the City of Coffeyville require an initial written test. Applicants are notified of testing date and must participate in testing for application to be considered further. Interviews are not automatic. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted by phone to schedule an interview. This time may vary depending on department needs and priorities but is usually within three weeks after the deadline date. 3. How long does the City keep a resume on file?: Applications are specific to a certain position. Applicants would need to apply for each position that is of interest as it opens.

4. What is the City residency requirement?: Employees must be residents of Kansas and live within 25 miles of the Coffeyville City Hall (102 W. 7th) and within such proximity to the city that the employee is able to safely and legally drive to City Hall under normal driving conditions within 40 minutes from the employee's residence.
Department heads - city clerk, finance director, human resource officer, IT manager, police chief, fire chief, public works director and electric utility director must reside in the USD 445 school district; and the city manager must reside in the city limits.
