How long does it take to get property rezoned?
Generally it will take 75 to 90 days to process a rezoning application from the date the application is turned in. The variation in the time is dependent upon the Planning Commission and City Commission scheduled meeting dates.

Can I operate a business in my home?
Yes, you can operate a business in your home under certain conditions. You must also apply for a Home Occupation Permit and appear at a public hearing before the Planning Commission.

Can I put up a carport in front of my house?
No, under most circumstances you may not. However, depending on the location of the house on the property and the zoning classification of the property in question, it may be acceptable. It may be possible with a variance application and public hearing before the Board of Zoning Appeals.
